While Marvel Studios controls most of its characters, Spider-Man remains co-owned by Sony Pictures.
Their partnership allows Spider-Man to appear in MCU films (likeNo Way Home,Avengers: Endgame, etc.
), but its largely been restricted to theatrical releases.
The deal doesnt automatically extend to Marvel’s Disney+ series.

However, those deals were negotiated specifically for main roles likeThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
A cameo isa whole different ballgame, involving legal permissions, financial compensation, and scheduling.
Its also possible Marvel Studios never even pursued a Spider-Man cameo inDaredevil: Born Again.
The show notably excluded other New York-based heroes like the Defenders (Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, etc.
),despite their prior Netflix history with Daredevil.
Tom Hollands Spider-Man is due to return in a new solo film,which is still in preproduction.
Of course, anything is possible.
Marvel has surprised audiences before with unexpected cameos and crossovers.
Regardless, for now, the wall-crawler remains conspicuously out of sight in theDaredevil: Born Againlandscape.
