The Creepers are at the heart of the story inMickey 17.

Being an Expendable means that he is required to perform lethal tasks and is regenerated each time he dies.

Expendable technology is outlawed on Earth, but not beyond it.

Mickey 17 and several other humans first encounter and learn of the Creepers while exploring the surface of Niflheim.

Here’s the reason why.

The Creepers vary in size, although their leader is noticeably larger than the rest of them.

She moves more slowly and purposefully while the juniors and babies roll around more.

The Creepers initially just want to be left alone so they can live peacefully.

Humans and creepers are now able to live harmoniously.

The Creepers are a peaceful species.

This includes drastic changes where the Creepers are concerned.

Among these changes, a baby Creeper does not infiltrate Marshall’s ship.

In general, the creepers are more akin to a hive mind in the source material.

Despite these changes, there are some hints about the Creepers' future based on the novel sequelAntimatter Blues.
