He’s crafted enough of his own chilling stories that it’s surprising such narratives still faze him.
King certainly enjoyed the book, saying in his blurb (viaAmazon): “Unrelenting suspense.
It reminded me a little of Jaws.”
McKinty’s 2022 novel follows an American family on vacation in Australia.
The Islanddoesn’t present much of a mystery, but its action and suspense make up for that.
This means McKinty’s book isn’t for the faint of heart.
They’ll keep readers hooked until the very last page.
Of course, the pacing ofThe Islandalso makes it a perfect summer read.
