The biggest moment of the conclusion isIvo Robotnik’s death.
Yet, I’m not the only one who has theorized about how Robotnik could still be alive.
One even changes the context of Shadow’s fate.
The after-credits tag shows one of Shadow’s Limiter Rings in a crater in the middle of the desert.
The movie then shows someone coming and picking up the ring.
Thanks to the shoes and the reason for taking it, the scene confirms that this individual is Shadow.

He officially survived the explosion then, even if the exact explanation of how that happened is not provided.
In any case, Robotnik can be alive if Shadow is.
For all we know, Shadow teleported himself and Robotnik to safety at the last second.

But there’s another theory too.
If you look closely enough, though, the space station doesn’t simply blow up.
It actually shrinks and disappears before the explosion takes place.
That’s why there are no fragments of the space station seen floating in space at the end.
This could then mean that Shadow and Robotnik did not die as part of the explosion.
This could be any planet across the universe or multiverse.
The black hole survival theory for Robotnik could fill in the gaps.
There’s no reason to undo an emotionally satisfying conclusion for the character otherwise.
Ultimately, this is just a theory forSonic the Hedgehog 3for the time being.
