Marking only Tim Burtons second feature film, theoriginalBeetlejuicepremiered in 1988 to critical acclaimand box office success.
The PG-13 rating was officially introduced in July 1984, nearly four years before the originalBeelejuice’s PG release.
Thedeaths inBeetlejuice Beetlejuiceare arguably scarier visuals than in the original movie, which may be unsettling to young viewers.
Theres also the frequent strong language and suggestive material, which parents may deem too inappropriate for children.
If parents permitted their children to watch Beetlejuice, then they may also be fine watching Beetlejuice 2.

Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice stars Michael Keaton as the titular “bio-exorcist”, an obnoxious spirit who specializes in driving living occupants out of homes. When Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) die suddenly, they pass into the spirit realm, and must stay in their home. However, in the living world, the Deetz family purchases the house and moves in, prompting the Maitlands to enlist the help of Beetlejuice to drive them away.
