This was an intentional creative choice, becauseit put the focus more on Rileys emotions and how they work.

But it also made her tougher to connect with, because she was just a generic kid archetype.

In the sequel,Riley gets a much bigger role and a more well-rounded personality.

Inside Out 2 is the sequel to the 2015 original film, which starred a young girl named Riley with a head full of emotions. - literally. With Amy Pohler as Joy, Bill Hader as fear, Mindy Kaling as Disgust, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, and Lewis Black as Anger, the all-star cast brought to life the emotions that adolescents face as they grow, change, and adapt to new situations. This sequel, currently in development, will bring Amy Pohler back as Joy, with Riley, now a teenager.

This would open up the threequel to give Riley even more screen time thanInside Out 2.

The issue is that theInside Outmovies can never fully commit to Rileys perspective.

Inside Out 2is the highest-grossing film of the year with a worldwide gross of $1.694 billion.
