The vision sequence is one of the most attention-grabbing moments in the latest piece of marketing.

What is clear is that humanity is in crisis, likely as a result of The Entity.

What Could It Be?

The Entity also shows Ethan a vision of him holding an unspecified gadget.

This is not a match to any previous pieces of tech featured in the franchise.

It’s possible this is part of how Ethan plans to destroy The Entity.

Perhaps it is somehow even connected to the Rabbit’s Foot.

This could be the start of their expedition to Alaska, leaving Ethan behind.

He’s in the shadows behind some sort of wall or gate.

This is an island located in Alaska.

That’s notable becauseWilliam Donloe was sent to Alaska after the Langley break-ininMission: Impossible.

His rogue turn to work with Ethan is teased here as Briggs holds up Degas' picture.

He is acting like sitting in either a car or plane of some kind.

The date’s appearance on this letter must be a code with a deeper meaning to whoever reads it.

He’s not alone, as the leg next to his head indicates.

Based on Ethan’s expressions, this might not be a friendly encounter.

An Underwater Explosion

Is This Sevastopol?

We also see an underwater explosion in The Entity’s visions.

Protests in Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning

This is seemingly part of the same attack that leads to the house fire previously seen.

This seems to be part of the house action sequence that leads to the fire.

This would mean that Benji and Degas are both present for this fight scene.

Benji Screaming

Is He In Pain Or Trapped?

Benji is seen screaming in a vision that is probably particularly worrying for Ethan to see.

This looks to be during the house fire.

This could be her in Alaska on a separate mission from Benji, Paris, and Degas.

There’s alsoa possibility this is Grace in the Arctic trying to reach Ethanat Sevastopol.

If not, it could be William Donloe or possibly even Ethan Hunt.

He’s diving in a high-tech suit fitted with the American flag on the shoulder.

This comes off as his main dive to get to the submarine.

This frozen dead body is likely someone who Ethan finds as he explores the submarine.

In that case, Ethan won’t live long with the freezing cold temperatures of this water.

However,it is Grace who is now shown saving Ethan underwater in The Entity’s visions.

Who Is She Talking To?

She’s surrounded by other government officials, some fromDead Reckoningand others who are new additions to the franchise.

That’s now something that even Ethan gets a preview of courtesy of The Entity’s visions.

He’s initially greeted by someone wearing a green hat and a coat.

Gabriel hiding in Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning

Ethan’s team seemingly goes to find Saxon, as he factors into the endgame with The Entity somehow.

It’s unclear if she’s using the knife to fight someone or destroy the wires running this technology.

Benji is shown while he’s clearly working with some technology, potentially a server.

“It is this line that leads directly into The Entity’s vision sequence even.

President Sloane & Other Government Officials With A Briefcase

Will They Press The Button?

The Entity next shows President Sloane and her allies faced with a choice.

They stand before a briefcase and Sloane prepares to press a glowing red button.

Briggs holding a picture of Degas in Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning

This could be a glimpse of them contemplating firing nuclear missiles as either a preemptive or reactive attack.

This is presumably at a time when Ethan has seemingly failed to stop The Entity.

This is also believed to be part of the house-set action sequence.

That would mean Paris, Degas, and Benji are all present for this fight and the subsequent fire.

Clearly, The Entity wants to show Ethan how dangerous this mission is for the trio.

She’s right up against a wall, which could indicate that she is tied up.

That matches other footage from the trailers.

Notably, Gabriel is present in the other scene.

He’s shown firing a gun.

Benji Isn’t Looking Too Good

Is He Dead?

The last shot of Benji in Ethan’s visions is concerning.

Whether he is actually dead is a different story.

Underwater explosion in Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning

This could be another example of The Entity showing Ethan potential outcomes or his fears.

This is a rare instance of seeing it outside of his direct control.

It’s only afterward that he learns it was a trick by Owen Davian and John Musgrave.

This could suggest that the J.J. Abrams-directed third installment has a pivotal role to play in the eighth entry.
