After being teased at the end ofSonic 2, Shadow finally makes his debut inSonic the Hedgehog 3.
Gerald’s plan to destroy humanity brings all these characters together during the excitingconclusion ofSonic the Hedgehog 3.
The most recentSonicmoviemasterfully handles all these characters, and gives them all moments to show off their powers.
After all, they now act as parental figures to Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.
However,unlike the rest of Team Sonic, Tom and Maddie are only human.
Therefore, they can’t really hold their own against the other characters in theSonicfranchise.

However, it has to be noted that this mission almost led to the death of Tom.
After mistaking him for Commander Walters,Shadow punches Tom, gravely injuring him.
Overall, Tom and Maddie are definitely the weakest characters inSonic the Hedgehog 3.
InSonic 3, audiences get to see just how much Agent Stone cares about Ivo.
However,Ivo eventually realizes that he can’t let Gerald destroy the world at the end ofSonic 3.
Ivo and Gerald Robotnik are quite similar characters.
While Sonic can be quite impulsive, Tails thinks through everything, which makes him an extremely important character.
Hopefully futureSonicmovies show off Tails' abilities even more.
Knuckles was actually the villain inSonic the Hedgehog 2before realizing the error of his ways.
Therefore, the previous movie in the series proved how much of a threat Knuckles is.
Sonic is fueled by hatred after Shadow injures Tom, butKnuckles decides to control his emotions and show restraint.
However, it is clear that Knuckles is one of the most powerful characters inSonic the Hedgehog 3.
Therefore, he decides to use the Master Emerald to turn into Super Sonic.
In his super form, Shadow has even more abilities.
Up until the very end of their fight, Shadow also easily handles his own against Sonic.
When they are both at the height of their powers, Shadow is definitely more powerful than Sonic.
