It was written by Jin A Kim, and its episodes were directed by Kim Hong-sun.
Producers for the show include Steve M. Choe and Kyoung-Yoon Choi.

Some of this involves the character fighting people with swords, creating an action element to the series.
Hongrang is played by Lee Jae-wook, who also starred in the Netflix fantasy K-dramaAlchemy of Souls.
