Excitedly, Ferguson will be playing a villain character, the aggressive school headmistress Dame Snap.

The film was written by Simon Farnaby, whose credits includeWonkaandPaddington, both of which fulfill a similar aesthetic.

Ben Gregor is the director behindThe Magic Faraway Tree, with credits mostly involving TV productions likeBritanniaandCuckoo.

Barry Keoghan was also recently announced for the film.
