However, there are still several instances where Fede Alvarez’s movie connects toPrometheusandAlien: Covenant.
This includes the Engineers, thanks to the origin of the alien.
That does not stop the similarities to the Engineers from being evident.
They created them using a different, mystery black liquid than theblack goo shown inAlien: Romulus.
Alien: Covenantdoes not help answer what happened to the Engineers betweenPrometheusandAlien.
This suggests thatthere are at least still some Engineers alive by the timeAlien: Covenantends.
Rain and Andy could then find evidence for the Engineers' existence and ultimate fate.
It would be smart fo theAlien: Romulussequel to explain the Engineers' fate too.
