The Doctor Who Showrunner Has Some Connection To The Upcoming Finale
In 2024,Doctor Who’s previous showrunner Steven Moffat gave aRadio Timesinterview that has sparked plenty of speculation among fans.
In the interview (which was conducted last May), Moffat revealed that while he hadn’t read the script for “Empire of Death,” he’d been given early access to the script for season 15’s finale “for reasons that will become apparent.”

This seems to imply that the upcoming finale will be related to something he’s written before, whether that be a character or a longer story arc, and that he needed to sign off on it first.
Doctor Whos latest trailer seems to be hinting towards a certain character becoming the big bad of the upcoming season later in 2025.
Althoughit’s possible that the current showrunner Russell T. Davies will be bringing something from Moffat’s 2010-2017 era backfor the season 15 finale, it’s much more likely that he’ll be building on something from Moffat’s more recent episodes.
The latest Doctor Who series introduces the Fifteenth Doctor, joined by new companion Ruby Sunday.
The most obvious answer is that this episode will somehow be related to “Boom,” as its been confirmed that Varada Sethu will appear in both episodes but there’s an equally plausible, less obvious alternative.
