Novocaine
Warning: SPOILERS forNovocaine.
In the lead-up toNovocaines ending, protagonist Nate goes through any number of traumas that he likely shouldnt survive.
Early on, Nate runs into a childhood bully at a bar while on a date with Sherry.
When he returns from the bathroom, seems like Sherry has started flirting with his nemesis.
However, things turn whenSherry suggests Nate and his bully become friends by doing shots together.
However,Nates kitchen fight against Ben contains a lot of enjoyable lead-up to its signature moment.
But no movie pulls off that scene quite likeNovocaine.
Thats probably not what epinephrines really for, but Nate makes it look good.
To the movies credit,Novocainemade good on this question by having Nate lose most of the fight.
Novocaine follows the story of a successful dentist whose life spirals out of control after becoming entangled with a seductive patient. Facing unexpected challenges and criminal activity, he finds his personal and professional worlds colliding, leading to an urgent fight to preserve both his reputation and sanity.
He then leaps toward his attacker, bringing his fists down to blind the man.
He quickly learns thatBen is a prepper whos outfitted his house with an almost unbelievable number of booby traps.
Novocaines torture sceneisnt for the faint of heart.
To stop this from happening,Nate forces Simon to crash the ambulance by attacking him with a defibrillator.
The trick of it is that he doesnt just attach the paddles to Simon.
And thats what leads to the films most truly hardcore kill scene.
He doesnt have a healing factor, and he can absolutely die.
But the truly unexpected payoff is whenNate performs a true Wolverine kill that only comic book fans could appreciate.
It all comes down to how Wolverines adamantium claws actually work in the comics.
In this one brutal moment,Novocainemakes the most literal callback possible to that single Wolverine line.
