Scream 7has officially ruined one of the best Sidney Prescott revelations from theScreamreboot.
The famous horror franchise has been going through many changes sinceScream 7fired Melissa Barrera.
Shortly after, Jenna Ortega also left the sequel, establishing two major blows to the movie.
However, the horror sequel still has much to prove given all the behind-the-scenes changes.
One ofScream’s most iconic stars,Patrick Dempsey has teased his possible return forScream 7.
Dempsey’s return as Mark Kincaid would have been a step in the right direction for the upcoming film.

It has no greater significance to the overall narrative, but it does explain some other inconsistencies within theScreamfranchise.
For one, Mark Kincaid does not appear inScream 4; he is not even mentioned in the film.
Regardless,Sidney Prescott marrying a different Markmakes more sense now.

However, this new casting announcement also causes some plot holes.
Sidney and Dewey do not keep in touch often; this factor was established in everyScreamsequel.
Dewey most likely never met Evans.
However, Mark Evans is a new character that Sidney only recently met in the last decade or so.
In fact, it is a real possibility, given Kevin Williamson’s involvement inScream 7.
The originalScreamscreenwriter spoke about his ideas for theScreamsequelspost-Scream 3, and he described playing with her love life.

Created by Kevin Williamson and originally helmed by Wes Craven, the Scream franchise takes a meta approach to the slasher horror franchise, centering on teenagers well-versed in the genre who find themselves hunted and killed by figures donning the Ghostface mask. The first four movies revolved around Neve Campbell’s Sydney Prescott as she frequently found herself the target of different Ghostface killers, while the fifth and sixth installments introduced new protagonists, sisters Tara and Sam, with their own dark past connected to the original Ghostface killer.
