They also tried desperately to have their cake and eat it, too, with the animation versus live-action.
Unfortunately, the great performance by Rachel Zegler isnt enough to save the movie from the cash grab label.

Similarly, Casey Chong ofCaseys Movie Maniadescribed Gadots singing as embarrassingly flat and tone-deaf.
Unfortunately, as much as Id like to defend Gadots singing, I dont disagree with them.
Gadots mediocre performance seems bad in comparison to that of her co-star.
Hes not a prince, which is fine, but hes not exactly an original character, either.
AV Clubdescribed him as the floppy-haired Robin Hoodlam Jonathan which is as hilarious as it is accurate.
The remake offers a slightly similar but also slightly different ending thats much more sappy than the original.
