Its no surprise that Dean turns out the way he does in the later seasons.
Rory does attempt to embrace the idea for Dean, but the show treats it as a joke.
So its hard to watch her younger and more hopeful self on screen without an impending sense of dread.
Despite its many flaws,Gilmore Girlsharshest realities could never undermine what a beautifully layered story each character created.
